The area offers a wide variety of excellent dining options, from casual local favorites to waterfront seafood restaurants. Most meals on the tour are either included or planned at carefully selected restaurants near our birding locations. Your guides are also happy to recommend additional dining options during your free time. Alcoholic beverages are not included.
Yes. If you are interested in hiring a private guide or extending your birding experience before or after the tour, we can recommend trusted local birding guides in the area. Requests should be made in advance and are subject to guide availability.

The Upper Texas Coast is home to hundreds of recorded species and is one of the most productive birding regions in North America during spring migration. Species commonly encountered include:
During favorable weather conditions, large migration fallouts may occur, producing extraordinary numbers and diversity of species. A full bird list will also be provided on the tour page.
The peak spring migration window runs from early to late April, which is why all tours are scheduled during this time. This period offers the best opportunity to observe trans-Gulf migrants, active nesting rookeries, and exceptional overall bird diversity.

Tour accommodations are arranged by Premier Birding Tours and are included in the tour package. We stay at Hilton-brand hotels in convenient locations near birding sites. Participants choosing to arrive early or stay after the tour may book additional nights directly with the hotel.

You will have lots in common with fellow tour members and we will have group chats on phone before tour. Days are extremely full and staying at Hiltons properties will recharge and comfortable. Booking as single will not be an issue.
Each 5-day adventure includes 3 full days of expert-guided birding. Two days are led by local expert guides, naturalists who live and work in their regions and know the local birds, habitats, and best birding spots intimately.
